SPECIALTY SERVICES

Tate Ornamental offers many specialty services that are unique to the ornamental industry. We have experience with all types of materials and have been in business since 1988 and have yet to see anything that cannot be accomplished. Our motto is that we thrive on the things others say cannot be done and we never confuse effort with results.

Tate Ornamental offers a number of specialty services including the following list of projects by type. If you have a unique and special project that requires a high-level of skill and knowledge but do not see the project on this list please contact us as it does not mean that we cannot assist you.

Rolling

Rolling is the process where we heat and bend the metal to fit the design. We own several types of rolling equipment used for fabrication metals to fit custom designs. Tate has the knowledge and experience to roll quarter inch plates to 10 feet wide to fit the design. We also roll almost any shape and size whether it be round, square or flat.

The EAGLE Model CPD80 is a Double Pinch Fully Hydraulic Angle Roll. The specifications for this below.

Angle, Leg Out – 3″ x 3″ x 3/8″ Angle @ 40″
Angle, Leg In – 3″ x 3″ x 5/16″ Angle @ 40″

Pipe, Schedule 40 – 3″ @ 48″
Flats, Hard Way – 3.5″ x 5/8″ @ 32″
Flats, Easy Way – 5″ x 1″ @ 26″

Polishing & Finishing

Tate Ornamental has several stand up buffers, stroke sanders and belt sanders to give any product the desired finished. We have used this technique and our equipment in the architectural metals industry to produce satin #4 finish and mirror #8 finishes on different metals. Tate has completed thousands of parts for the trucking industry and while driving down the road if you see a Peterbilt, Kenworth or Freightliner truck with beautifully polished parts… there is a very good chance we did the polishing.

Waterjet Cutting

This technique is the only non-heat approach to cutting metals. We have a two-head 6’x16′ High Rail Gantry Waterjet Cutting System that can cut almost any material up to six inches thick. This machine uses water and Garnett abrasives to cut materials and it leaves a very nice finished edge after cutting. There is no warping due to heat and in most cases the part can go directly into fabrication without removing slag or cut marks. The High Rail Gantry Waterjet Cutting System has +/- 0.001″ linear positional accuracy over 12″ travel per axis and +/- 0.001″ repeatability (bi-directional).
